Possibility of Listserv
What is it exactly? How would it benefit us?
Google has a free option for creating mail lists
There may be a budget emergency in the Quarter, Friends are meeting soon to discuss it.
Poughkeepsie meeting has a budget for communications, but don't want to be alone in contributing to MHQ.
Possibility of a Retreat
We might not have the funds to go to Powell House
The last retreat is still bearing fruit
Maybe we could have a one day retreat?
Concern over using the name "hudson" in our group
Jules expressed concern over the colonist implications of bearing the name Hudson for this group.
Responses were mixed, but the sense was that this name was necessary for people to be able to identify us, and we could not afford not to use it.
Walkway over the Hudson Field trip/Peace Vigil/Visibility gathering
Happening July 25th, rain date following week.
Meet in the morning before the heat, and share lunch after crossing.
Antislavery Quilt
Claudia and Sue proposed workshops from the Mid-Hudson Antislavery Project.
These will take place at Oakwood, and Friends should let their meetings know to invite them to attend.
These notes were written quite a while after the actual meeting, so they are a bit fragmented. Apologies. - Jules
